Jeremy, an aviation buddy of mine, in fact the friend who cut my instrument panel with his homebuilt CNC in his garage, told me - ' we need to have an intervention' - this after I told him I bought myself as a Christmas present, the Garmin GDL 39R - the remote ADS-B unit for interfacing to the GDX 460 weather and traffic, and two other devices via bluetooth (iPad, etc.)
The GDL 39R will receive GPS postion data from the GDU 460, and receive ADS-B data from a blade x-ponder antenna.
Made new bottom plates and used the now typical method of L-angle riveted together, and nut plates for attaching the brackets to the console braces, and holding the GDL 39R to the bracket. Made all of this removable so I can also easily remove the IBBS.
Afterwards, I saw where someone mounted it in the rear fuse - so well, the rear fuse location might use less RG400 than my console location, so might relocate later,,,
