Decided to locate the ELT in basically the only place possible, where it will be both readily serviceable and near the antenna.
• Measured and cut two 3/4" angles to create the bracing needed to mount the bracket supplied with the ELT. • Located where the ELT will mount on the braces, match drilled holes to the pre-drilled holes on the supplied bracket. • Deburred and cleaned up the braces. • Attached the brackets to the braces using AN8R8 screws, washers and nuts. • Test fitted in the plane the assembled ELT / brace combination. • Tested all of the components to ensure there was no magnetic interference as this is in the same area as the two magnetometers.
