Brief Description:  Change Cooling Hoses

A young A&P stopped by and looked over my build, mostly complimentary but did call out the plastic cooling hoses I used for the alternator and magnetos. These were per Van's spec, but I decided to change them anyway. Ordered aluminum flanges from Aircraft Spruce, and SCAT tube for replacing the plastic corrugated tubing. The SCAT is the smallest diameter available (from Aircraft Spruce), but larger than the plastic corrugated tubing.

Installed the aluminum flanges in the same locations as used for the plastic tubing, I did not enlarge the existing holes in the engine baffle. Blind riveted the flanges to the baffling, then use stainless clamps to attach the SCAT to the flanges.

The plastic tubes were attached by cable ties at their destination, the SCAT will be secured by cushion clamps.
