Brief Description:  Engine Baffle Install - Left Front CB Ramp [2] B

While performing the fitting of the left front CB ramp, there are two screws to install into the engine case, one under the ramp, right side, the second above the ramp left side.

As with one of the rear baffle screws, the hole in the engine case for the screw needs some work to accept the screw.

For the right side (under the (CB ramp baffle), I worked the screw, repeatedly using WD40 to rinses the screw hole after installing the screw, a bit further for each attempt, until the screw would insert full length required.

For the left side (top of (top of CB ramp baffle), I began the same procedure, and the screw seemed to be going in with not much resistance, so I was not as careful to installing... at which point the screw head separated with no warning... meaning, I was not torqueing the screw any more than in the first few attempts... Needless to say, I was not very happy.

Removed the left front ramp baffle which revealed a small amount of the broken screw.
Attempted to install two small nuts on the remaining screw, so I could remove the broken screw as a stud, but there was not sufficient thread for the second nut, consequently could not use the double-nut method.

My vise grips I previously smoothed to use as a rivet squeezer for tight places... so off to HD to buy new vise grips, ended up buying a 4-pack with various sizes and lengths.

Took my new vise grip, locked on to the screw, and started twisting, which thankfully, successfully removed the broken screw.

Re-installed the ramp baffle and installed a replacement screw.
