Brief Description:  FWF Prop Governor Control Cable

Install the Prop Governor Control Cable:

• Removed Prop Governor from Engine
• Remove Nut and Lock Washer from control cable
• Routed control cable through prop governor bracket, reinstalled Nut and Lock Washer.
• Installed AN315-5 lock nut and Rod End Bearing, positioning the control cable nut and lock washer for hopefully stop-to-stop operation of the prop governor.
• Installed the rod end bearing on to the control lever of the prop governor, on the outside of the lever. The inside position was initially much better aligned with the angle of the governor bracket, but the safety wire on the screws interfered with cable operation.
• Due to interference, I removed the control cable, and place the bracket in the vise, clamping the tab for the cable pass-thru. Influenced the angle of the tab..
• Removed the bracket from the vise, re-attached the governor control cable, and lock nut and rod end bearing. Now the control cable has the correct angle for attaching to the governor level.
• Attached the rod end bearing to the governor control level, using appropriate bolt, washers and lock nut.
• Tested operation to ensure stop –to-stop operation.

Removed the Prop Governor 1&3/4” studs, on the back of the accessory case using the double-nut method. I was concerned this would be difficult, but, it was actually quite easy to do. Awaiting the LW316C-16 studs from Aircraft Spruce (West) which should arrive on Wed 4/30.
