The tail pipes are attached with two springs, which, by necessity, are quite strong. Great for keeping the tail pipes in place, not so great for actually attaching the springs.
By some miracle I don't understand, I was able to install both springs on the left pipe without too much struggling, the right pipe and springs put up a fight. I finally swung the tail pipe to the far side of the exhaust ramp and installed the spring.
Set of vise grips came in handy to use to stretch the spring far enough to attach.

Getting the spring in place required some effort.
By swinging the pipe wide, made it much easier to install the springs.
