Brief Description:  Engine Test After Overhaul

On Monday, Jan 19, arrived at Williamson Aircraft on Orlando Execute KORL, to see my new engine, and to observe it's first test run since overhaul.

Larry Williamson took time to explain everything that has been done to the engine, and what needed to be accomplished during the test run. The run would last for 45 minutes, and required starting the engine and running at low idle, about 800 rpm until the oil temps started to warm. Over the next 45 minutes, the engine rpm was increase and run in for about 3 - 4 minutes, while oil pressure, oil temperture, cylinder head temperature, and fuel pressure are monitored.

During the run up to full power at 2700 rpm, there were no issues with any of these parameters.

After the run, the engine will be preserved since it will be a good 12 months before I get to fly, not sure how long before I can fire the engine. Larry's main instruction... DO NOT TURN THE CRANK... this will negate the aeroshell anti-rust preservative oil effect applied to the engine.
