Brief Description:  Make Plexi Bubble Grommets

While at Oshkosh this year, spoke with Danny King about his canopy, and what he did to try to prevent the bubble from cracking under extreme temperature changes. I am following his lead.

Got model airplane fuel line, about 24 inches, and cut into 1/8" pieces. A ACQQ4-4 rivet fits nicely into the fuel line, which is flexable, will compress and is UV stable.

Used a unibit to widen a keeper hole in the rear of the plexi bubble to test the fitting of the grommet, works very well.

The plan is to drill each #40 hole in the plexi bubble to accept the new grommet, which will allow for some expansion of the plexi bubble during temperature changes, and hopefully prevent the plexi bubble from developing any cracks.
