Brief Description:  Top Skin and Baggage Door Support fitting

Received the Baggage Door forward and rear Supports today, so proceeding with final fitting of the top skin and preliminary fitting of the fwd baggage door.

Detached the fwd baggage door skin from the top skin (dremel cutoff disc).
Debured the edges of the fwd baggage door skin - scotch brite wheel
Deburred the edges of the baggage door supports - scotch brite wheel

Next step is to cleco the baggage door supports to the bottom side of the top skin, then re-install the top skin to the instrument panel attach flange, the rear baggage compartment wall and rhe firewall. The problem is, neither the rear baggage wall or the firewall have pre-drilled holes because this part of the aircraft is 2006 vintage. so..

Drilled using #40 the top hole, and lowest hole on both the firewall and baggage wall using the top skin pre-drilled holes as a guide. The baggage compartment wall was challenging to align because of a warp in the piece, so had to pull the panel forward to align with the opening of the baggage compartment in order to correctly locate the edge distance for the #40 hole.
Leaving the 2 top clecoes in the instrument panel flange, inserted both baggage door supports, which are pre-drilled, underneath the top skin, aligned with existing holes in the skin.
Starting at the top, worked toward the side fuse to cleco the predrilled holes on the instrument panel flange, baggage wall, and firewall.
Inpsected each hole to ensure the baggage door support pre-drilled holes align with the top skin, in preparation for drilling #40 the remaining holes in the firewall and baggage compartment wall.

I can see why getting the baggage door to fit well is so challenging.. the firewall is pre-bent forward and must be pulled back a bit to align with the fwd top skin and fwd baggage support holes, which is fine until you remove the baggage door skin from the top skin, then there is basically nothing to hold in place at this point but small strip of the top skin and the forward baggage door support.
