Next Step is to temporarily attach the top skin to the fuse in preparation for the fwd baggage door.
Locate the fwd and rwd baggage door support strips F-821B-1 and F821C-1. -- after much searching, I don't have these. Another example of the plans changing since 2006. Ordered this evening from Vans. I do have F-822BPP, which is referenced in the 2006 plans, but not going to use.
Proceeded with test fitting the top skin. Removed the blue poly from the interior of the top skin. Clecoed the top skin to the top center of the firewall. Celcoed the top skin to the top center of the instrument sub panel Proceeded to cleco from the top to the sides for the firewall and instrument sub panel Left side aligns well with firewall and instrument sub panel, but the right side does not, the rivet line is off a fraction, will need some tweaking as it is obvious the right side skin is a bit too far forward. The stainless firewall has a bend such that it angles forward at the top, relative the the bottom 2/3. This angle is the source of the problem, too far forward.
The real fun part will be aligning the predrilled holes in the top skin for the rear baggage compartment for which there are no pre-drilled holes.
Bur first things first. I should have the fwd and rwd baggage support strips Wed to proceed with this part of the build.
top skin clecoed in place - duct tape from previous builder... Don't know why.
