Brief Description:  Aligning the Spinner

The spinner alignment procedure is simple. Placed a mark on the tip of the spinner at the center. Taped a pencil to a straight edge, taped the straight edge to a ladder. Aligned the pencil to the mark on the spinner.

hint: make sure the spinner is secure, as in taped on both sides, it can't shift during the process.

Rotate the prop... yes, this will render long term storage of the engine in jeopardy. But, I'm not far from engine start, so proceeded. If this gets extended, I'll pull the top plugs, and spray some LP-2 into the cylinders while rotation the prop for corrosion prevention.

I removed the bottom plugs on each cylinder and began rotation the prop. This was strangely satisfying, so see the prop rotate and hear the click of the magneto. While the spinner rotates, determine the mark was moving a bit relative to the pencil. Made some minor adjustments, which required pushing the spinner onto the bulkhead about a 1/16" more. When the spinner mark stayed centered on the pencil, used clamping clecoes to hold the spinner in place to the rear bulkhead.
