Brief Description:  Spinner Mark and Trim

• Used a contour gauge to determine the basic shape of the prop blade at the spinner location. Traced the contour gauge to piece of hard board, then fitted the hard board around the prop and rear spinner bulkhead to determine the depth of the cut to make on the spinner to make the cut-out template. Trimmed the template removing the area to be removed from the spinner. Positioned the template on the spinner and traced one of the two cut outs needed for the prop. Measured the diameter of the spinner, divided by 2 to determine the location on the opposite side of the spinner to mark the opposite cut out.

• Measured (more than once) to make sure the cut outs are equal distant from each other, as I assume the prop blades are in fact the same.

• Traced the template for the 2 of 2 cut out on the opposite side of the spinner.

• Re-measured the spinner to ensure the cut-out markings are equal distant from each other.

• The initial cut-out on the spinner was made using aviation snips on the inside of the line.
