Brief Description: Prepping for Fiberglass Fairing
After making the washers to space the windscreen on the forward roll bar, deburred each of the holes for the screws which will attach the windscreen to the roll bar. Because there is a gap between the bottom of the windscreen, and the aluminum top skin, decided to cut some cardboard in about 1" strips, each about 4 - 5 inches long, and covered with electrical tape. I inserted the strips of cardboard on the inside of the windscreen, contacting the top skin and taped to the inside of the windscreen, making a nice backing plate for applying a toothpaste style mix of tinted epoxy and glass beads to fill the gap.
I proceeded with locating the hole for the canopy handle, drilling a pilot hole with a #40 that goes about 7/8" through. this will be final drilled to #29, then started tapping for a AN506 8R14 screw.
