Brief Description: Re-Installing Cowl for Fit Check
As I am working my way forward on the punch list assembly items, finally got to the cowl. I have performed quite a bit of filling and sanding from the previous fitment exercise and now want to see if the work panned out as planned.
The is the first time I have attempted to install the bottom cowl since I installed the prop, which means the air inlet seals must be installed on the bottom cowl bore the bottom cowl is brought up to the engine. I taped the air baffle seal forward so it would clear the front air dams on the engine baffle, then brought up the cowl to the engine. A bit of fudging with the ram air inlet seal for the FAB, then situated the cowl so I could set the aft most camlocks at the top of the cowl at the firewall. A bit of push here, etc. to get the remaining cam locs in place, then untaped the air inlet baffle seals.
Next, installed the oil door on the top cowl, then the top cowl on to the bottom and firewall. I am very pleased with how the top and bottom cowl now meet, all the filling and sanding paid off nicely.
