Cut off ~ 2 inches from the forward control stick in two passes. The first cut cleared the bottom of the instrument panel, but insufficient room for fingers.
Each wire is labeled within the stick and also where they exit the stick. (8) wires total.
Now the forward stick clears the bottom of the instrument panel and there's sufficient room for fingers.
Remove ~ 2", located, drilled and tapped new rentention hole
