Brief Description:  Landing and Recognition Lights - Part 3

Light tubes for landing and recognition light matched drilled to wing tip, holes countersunk, then riveted using CS4-4. I thought about epoxy, but this way they can be removed if needed. Attached the working Sunray Plus light and tested, seems to work well and look good too.

As for the non-working landing light, I tested the power on the red wire pin on the Molex connector, 12.4 volts. Also, the recognition light works, which uses a common ground with the landing light. I then tried the non-working light on the other wing tip (left) and still did not work, while the other light worked when tested on the right wing. Leaves me with a non-working Sunray Plus light for the landing function only.

Contacted Aeroleds, there is a five year warranty… I knew I had the receipt of purchase from Aircraft Spruce, but in a stack of many. Instead I looked up the part # on the Aircraft Spruce website, then called Customer Service. Using the part # and my customer #, they identified the invoice and purchase date - 7/31/2015 – just a few months within the warranty period. Shipped off the light to Aeroleds in Boise ID for a replacement.
