Brief Description:  First Flight of N261CC

Today was First Flight. I spent the previous Tue - Wed and Thu in Okeechobee FL with Jan Bussell flying his RV-6. Jan has many years of experience providing transition training into RV aircraft, and I needed a minimum of 5 hours in type for Insurance, plus, well it's just a good idea. I had previously completed a BFR in a Warrior a few weeks back, and that's my recent flight time in total since obtaining my tail wheel endorsement with Greg Koontz several years ago.

I was not going to be any more current than now, so after pre-flight the aircraft, and having Ken Garbacik in charge of the handheld radio and camera (iPhone), it was time to fly. It was exciting to call up ground and tell them I want to stay close by the airport at about 3500 feet for an hour or so, as this was a first flight.

No anomalies during the engine run up, and all set for takeoff, so off I went on RWY 6. The tail was airborne almost immediately, a bit of right rudder to maintain RWY heading, and off the ground in just a few seconds. I circled the airport at ~ 3500 feet for a about an hour. CHT was around 390 - 405 per cylinder, full rich on the mixture. Finally, it was time to land, and somehow made a real nice three point. No identifiable issues during the flight, De-cowled afterwards and no leaks detected, no loose jam nuts, no issues found.
