Brief Description:  First Engine Start

Engine Start Day. Case filled with 100W, plugs cleaned and re-installed, torqued to 30 foot pounds, Magnetos timed. Pre-Oiled engine by removing the oil pressure line to the sender on the firewall, cranked the engine for about 10 seconds. On the third crank oil started coming out of the line. Re-installed the oil pressure line to the sender.

Nothing left to do but try to start the engine. Fuel selector on right tank. Prop full forward, mixture full rich, throttle full forward, boost pump for 2 - 3 seconds just until the fuel pressure sender starts indicating flow. Turn off boost pump, return mixture and throttle to close, crack the throttle just a bit, engage the starter,,, after a few blade turns the engine starts to fire, move mixture full rich in about 1.5 to 2 seconds, and the engine is running.

Adjusted the rpm to 1100 and let the oil temp get to 120. Begin to advance the throttle to 1750, then exercised the prop control to get oil flowing in the hub. First few movements didn't produce much but then the oil was circulating the prop control worked fine. CHT and EGH were fine, nothing concerning at all. Reduced rpm back to 1100, after about 3 minutes shutdown closing the mixture, then returning the throttle to cut-off.
