Brief Description:  Rear Control Stick Boot, Seats and Harness

Installed the rear seat control stick boot, along with the fresh air vent and associated cover. The cover has a flange on the forward edge that slips under the rear control tube brace. The aft side of the cover is simply held down by the rear seat cushion. Installed the front harness belts, the lap belts slip through openings in the front seat back, so you must install them with the front seat back in place.

The harness belts are Hooker Sportsman and come with an aluminum bushing installed in the hardware where the AN4 bolt passes through. The bushing is too thick to place between the tabs for bolting the hardware, per Hooker, I removed these bushings by carefully grinding one side, so it slipped out the other, then made new bushings which were ~ .02” thicker than the hardware. This ensured the hardware would move within the tabs for comfort.

This was the first time I could sit in the plane, adjust the harness, and mess around with moving the control stick in all directions, and reaching for the various controls, e.g. fuel tank selector, FAB Bypass, Cabin Heat. I found an adjustment that enabled me to do these things, and still have enough safety for sudden stoppage or turbulent flight.
