Match drilled the three AN4 bolt holes for the lower VS rear spar to the rear bulkhead. The existing AN4 bolt holes from the tail wheel weldment were used to mark the center point of the VS spar using #12 drill bit. I covered with blue painter’s tape the VS lower spar to easily make the marks for the initial drilling.
Used a #40 to drill the initial three holes, then installed the VS. Proceeded with final drilling the three holes, using #30, then #19 then #12 from the exterior, managing to center the holes perfectly by taking my time to ensure each successive hole was centered.
Finally, the new VS and HS are installed.
Took the opportunity to install a few more cushion clamps in the rear fuse for wiring since the rear bulkhead at the aft deck is still on the bench.
