Here is what not to do when attempting to install a new HS to an existing aft deck with the four #19 holes for the AN3 bolts already drilled in the aft deck.
• Do not rush – no matter how much battery is left in the iPhone • Do not use an iPhone in selfie mode on a selfie stick to attempt to see where to match drill • Do not use a drill guide made from the previous HS to finish the holes in the HS
Why, you may wonder, because hole #1 when fine, but hole #2 went south because I could not see what I was doing, and the angle drill was not perpendicular to the work being drilled. The result is a snow manned hole in the fuse aft deck, and the lower HS spar reinforcement angle is now royally screwed.
Pics sent to Van's for corrective procedure. Not even going to try to fix the HS, ordered all new parts for a new HS build.
