Brief Description: Wheel Pant Adjustments
Good grief, I was a bit unhappy with how the wheel pant fairings came together, install of just making a small adjustment, I somehow decided on making a big adjustment. I decided to permanently affix the intersection fairing to the wheel pant and split it at the middle.
While this seems like a good idea, I've seen some done before, it is in fact a lot of work.
I attached the wheel pant halves together, then attached the intersection fairing, then marked the intersection fairing where it needed to be cut. Instead of a straight cut, decided to make the cut so there is sufficient material to lay over the gear leg from both pieces. Then cut the intersection fairing along the mark using a Dremel cut off wheel and drilled the 90 degree turns with #40. Sanded the edges smooth, then cleaned. Finally, mixed some West epoxy 105/205 and used this to attach the fairing to the wheel pant halves.
