Brief Description: Empennage Fairing - Fill and Sand
With the empennage taped up to protect the HS and VS, and taped the underside of the fairing, placed the fairing on the empennage, then used a mixture of epoxy and microballons to fill the gap created by cutting the fairing along the intersection line of the HS and VS.
After setting overnight, began sanding the empennage fairing to smooth out the HS to VS intersection. Afterwards, place the fairing on the empennage and the leading edge in common with the HS now contacts without any force required.
Filled the Gap with Epoxy/Microballons and Sanded
and sanded, more sanding followed by more sanding
Set in place, the fairing now sits in contact with the HS
