Brief Description: Right Side Fuse / Trailing Flap Fairings
I have fewer and fewer pieces left in the bins for the airframe. The left and right-side fuse / trailing edge flap fairings are two of the few remaining. The fairing is riveted in place above the flap top skin to the side of the fuse, and has a compound bend that serves to transition the airflow from the aft side of the flap and the fuse.
Used the vise and wood block to vary the bend in the fairing, it is roughly 80 degrees just aft of the flap, but decreases to a nice smooth curve at the aft end of the fairing. Basically, a bit of try and try again until I got the desired radius for the compound bend.
Taped the fairing in place and used a hole duplicator to locate the rivet holes in common with the fuse immediately above the flap. The aft portion of the fairing is matched drilled using the pre-punches holes in the fairing.
