Brief Description:  Windscreen Epoxy Prep

I decided it was a good idea to 'paint' a mixture of epoxy, tint and glass beads, much less thick than the mixture used to fill the joint between the windscreen and top skin, on the surface of the windscreen that will be covered by the fiberglass cloth. I'd prefer to have this blacked out from the view inside the cabin looking outward, and if I just layup epoxy cloth, no tint, I am not sure how this will l look.

This of course means more sanding, this after I pretty much got the joint nice and smooth.

I covered the windscreen and canopy with Mylar wrapping to protect each. For the joint between the windscreen and canopy, I taped the Mylar to the underside of the windscreen, and over laid the top of the canopy, to prevent the epoxy and glass skin from sticking to the canopy.

There was a 1/4" gap between the windscreen and canopy plexiglass, and I don’t want to fill this with epoxy, so I filled with modeler’s clay, smoothing the clay in the gap so the fiberglass cloth will transition nicely from the windscreen to the canopy - at least, that is the plan.
