Brief Description:  Fuel Line Re-Re-Do

The new fuel line I made Saturday is great, except for the fact it can't be installed, too long to fit in the limited space required under the left console. I realized the new line cannot be any longer than this space.

Given this I made a new-new line, and kept the bends as compact as possible. The new line still takes an immediate 90 degree turn exiting the left gear leg, then an immediate 180 degree turn with a combined 45 degrees down at the same time, then an immediate 45 degree turn toward the gear leg tower, followed by an immediate 180 degree turn toward the fuel filter.

I used the old line to compare to the new line relative to where the line exists the gear leg tower, and where it mates to the fuel filter. Many feet of 3/8" tubing was consumed in several trials to get this to work. One side effect was this line as a bit shorter than the original, which was not an issue as the fuel line on the forward side of the gear leg tower is straight to the boost pump, then straight to the firewall. I just had to relocate the boost pump aft 1/4" and make a new straight line, 1/4" longer from the boost pump to the firewall.

Also, this day, Keith helped me with completing riveting the top skip, in preparation for riveting the forward baggage door in place (piano hinge) and starting the windshield faring.
