Brief Description: Sun-n-Fun

Headed down to Sun-n-Fun for a day trip. Left Thursday afternoon for a room in Orlando, n ice road trip and only 5.5. hours, no traffic issues thankfully. Friday morning headed over to Lakeland for Sun-n-Fun. Arrived before 09:00 and found most vendors in their usual locations.
Got to see the new Garmin G5, very nice display, I was curious how this might compare with the Dynon D6 I have installed as my backup EFIS. The G5 has a backup battery, and is CAN enabled. Had the G5 been available when I picked the D6, I might have gone G5 instead, but since I have the D6 and it is working, that's how I am going to proceed.
Went ahead and got the seats from Oregon Aero, they actually had a core for the RV8 front and rear at the show. I had save my discount card from '11, and they honored it no problem.
Went to the Lycoming Engine forum, learned a few things I was not aware about the care a feeding and identification of Lycoming engines. Also, troubleshooting of some of the more common things we might unwittingly do.
A good trip, back on the road to Columbus around 3:30 or so... That was not fun... the traffic on I-4 west to Tampa, then I-74 north to Ocala was the worst I have ever encountered on an interstate highway. Basically stop and go traffic past Ocala, so the trip home took longer than anticipated,
Can't wait until the RV8 is flying!
