Brief Description:  Skybolt Camlocs Part I

I am using the Skybolt Camloc system, the full RV8 kit which includes the firewall for the top and bottom cowl, and the top and bottom split lines.

Countersunk all of the Skybolt tabs for the AN426-4-4 rivets which attach the receptacles to the tabs. Used side clamp clecoes to attach the tabs to the firewall flange i preparation for match drilling the #40 holes of the firewall flange.

I started at the right side top/bottom cowl split line because this Camloc will align with the Camloc of the split line, or at least that is the theory.

Spaced the tabs along the firewall flange; I was able to maintain the same spacing around the top of the firewall flange so that a Camloc is dead center at the top of the top cowl. The main issue was making sure the tab immediately above the tab at the split line would not interfere with the engine mount hardware when it came time to rivet the receptacles in place to the tabs.

After rounding the top and making it all the way to the left side split line, attached the left and right side tabes which are below the split lines, maintaining similar spacing which left one of the tabs really near the lower corner. It remains to be seen just how difficult it will be to use Camloc at this location. Worst case, I will not use the corner tabs for Camloc.
