Brief Description: Engine Cowl Fitting and Hinge work
May or may not, use the baggage door just made. I am tempted to make another once the firewall side of the cowl is riveted. So, proceeding with cowl fitting.
• Step one is to determine the spacer length required for a C/S prop. 2 and 1/8" • Purchased 24" of 3/4" PVC, and a PVC cutting tool from Home Depot. • Marked 2 & 1/8" lengths and cut six pieces, I will use only 4. • Squared the ends using a file.
I need at least two - 3" AN8-27A bolts for attaching the spinner bulk head to the ring gear using the spacers. These I don't have, and no HW store in town will either, so will order from Aircraft Spruce.
I realized the firewall hinge previously used is incorrect. Located the correct hinge hiding in the tube of few remaining parts of the build. I sort of forget there were a few more pieces after working on wiring for so many months. Clamped, match drilled, deburred and countersunk the new hinges, Clecoed in place.
