Brief Description:  Wing Close Prep - Continued

Started the morning by mixing up a mill fiber cabo mix for use on the capstrips during wing close. I mixed it up to a consistancy of thin toothpaste and took it over to Phoenix Composites for inspection by Heath the new owner. He told me to make it thicker like normal toothpaste. Knowing I had the mix to the proper consistancy I can confidently premix all the materials (mix not activate) Sunday night. I also promoted two gallons of fresh resin I suspect that I will go through more than a gallon to close the wing.

I am going to leave all the controls out for wing close. Most of it can be installed through the seat pans. The long aileron bulkhead pushrods are an exeption. Since I added a tip rib like the GII I needed to cut a one inch access hole in each tip rib to allow the pushrod tube to be installed (or removed) into the wing. I sealed the hole with Q-cell.

I then started all the prep sanding. I completed about two thirds of the LH skin sanding and the main spar cap. I will finish all this tomorrow and pre mix all the resin. Tomorrow is the big day!
