Brief Description: Wing Tip Reinforcement Laminates
I decided to build up my wingtip reinforcement in position on the wing flanges. These reinforcements will be bonded to the wing tip edges to give them some thickness for countersinking the mounting screws and giving them some stiffness. I removed the duct tape spacers used in the initial tip fitting and covered the wingtip mounting flanges with clear packing tape and then waxed them with mold release wax. I just did the upper flanges for now to see how the technique will work. I laid up ten plys on the right hand flange seven bid and three light uni in the middle. On the left side I did two ply bid, three ply heavy uni, two ply bid. They are now thick enough to bond to the wingtips.
