Brief Description:  Fabricate Mold for LG Circuit Board Cover

I am working up to working with the sticky stuff. So far I have been keeping it metal because that it what I am comfortable working with. Anyway, I started making a mold for a cover that will go over the top of the landing gear circuit card.

I chose to use 3/4" MDF for the mold. I cut three pieces and glued them up. At that point I had a 2.25" thick blank. I planed that down to the required 1 3/4" thickness that I wanted. After that it was left to some creative use of he table saw to cut all the bevels and draft into the blank. The bottom edges are all drafted five degrees. To get to the top taper two different angles are used.

It came out pretty good! I still need to sand in radii, mount it to a flat plate, seal, sand, wax, etc before it is ready to actually be used! Stall tuned...
