Brief Description: RH Main Gear Removal - Parts Prep
I removed the RH main gear so that I could refinish the backing nutplates. One of the previous builders has brushed some zinc chromate on the backing plates after installation. They did not look too pretty. Of course once the upper wing skins are installed this work will be hidden forever. In the interest of overkill I removed all the backing plates, spacers and side brace brackets. I then took them to work and removed all the nutplates, filed, shaped and sandblased the backing plates and spacers. I also did this to the number 3 gear door actuating lever. I will powdercoat all these pieces white tomorrow morning.
