Brief Description:  Nose Gear Fork Modification

My kit is a very early version. The landing gear is S/N158. As the design has evolved the attachment bolts connecting the nose wheel fork to the oleo strut have changed from #10 bolts to 1/4" diameter bolts.

Basically the nose gear fork had to be disassembled all holes redrilled to 1/4 inch. At this point all he parts are redrilled, holes are touched up with alodine, basically read for reassembly. The fork I was able to do on the mill. The oleo strut flange was drilled on the drill press. I was careful to protect the strut and seals from the chips (used masking tape).

The instructions estimate the time to complete this mod at 1.0 hours on aircraft. I am 2.5 into it doing it off aircraft in an air conditioned shop. Maybe I'm a little slow...
