Yesterday I got the rest of my big order from Glasair Aviation. Part of that order was a new nose gear drag link. The original one I that came with my kit was thinner wall tubing and plate. Apparently they were failing in service. Service Bulletin #26 addressed this problem and offers a detailed modification plan. I decided that the fix was a lot of trouble and would result in an ugly part. For $300 dollars I have a new much heavier duty version with fresh white powder coat.
Anyway, I had to press the bronze bushings out of the old drag link and press them into the new link. We have a hydraulic press at work which made it an easy task. I suspect a small arbor press would have also worked. Not much but at least I worked a little today!!
