Brief Description:  Elevator Control Arm - Pitch Mechanism

My friend Rob welded up some stuff for me over the weekend. One of the items was the elevator control arm. I sanded down some welds on the arm to allow the four gussets that are required to lay flat against the square tubing. I also cut the four gussets out of .050 4130 steel plate. Rob also welded up the rest of the steel components for the pitch trim system. I cleaned up these pieces with a wire wheel and then bead blasted them. I am going to powder coat the steel parts so they will all go through the bead blaster when they are completed. I am also bead blasting the pre-welded components for powder coating. I spent about an hour standing at the bead blaster. My rudder pedals and control stick hardware is pre-welded but painted black. I think aircraft tubing should generaly be white or grey for ease of inspection.
