I recently recieved a kit from Glasair that lengthens the brake actuating arm. Apparently the original design had a lot of pedal travel resulting in a spongy feel. The kit is basically two angle aluminum pieces that get bolted and riveted to the old pedals. This kit was meant to be installed on a completed aircraft. I would not want to try this on a set of installed pedals!
Anyway I milled two surfaces that interface with the new brackets and drilled all the attachment holes.
All this work was done on the mill at work. It took me awhile to figure out how to clamp the oddly shaped rudder pedals to the mill bed. All came out good but it was a lot of work!
Milled and Drilled Ear, Blue Dye Chem still in place
