Brief Description:  Fabricated Elevator and Trim Bellcrank

Made the elevator trim bellcrank out of 2024-T3 alum sheet (0.125" thick). Cut out the basic shape with a roll-in band saw. Sanded to final outline using a disk sander. Bent using a four foot brake at work. This is the thickest piece of aluminum I have ever bent on this brake. It was slightly pushing it as it is hard to get the nose set back far enough. This part took about an hour. I then started on the elevator bellcrank whick is made of 0.063" sheet. First parts I laid out I discovered that the pieces I cut were about a 1/4" short. Started again and they were beautiful. Then I discovered that my shop drawing had an error causing them to also be shorter than the plans call for. Quit in disgust! Third time will be a charm I'm sure. Measure twice, cut once right?
