Brief Description: Elevator Bellcrank, Gear Door Spring Barrels
Found the flanged bearing for the elevator bellcrank at my hanger over the weekend. Match drilled the bearing to the bellcrank halves using a drill press. Drilled out the pushrod attach holes through both bellcrank halves while they were still cleco'd together. I cut a .600" spacer to hold the halves apart during the drilling operation. Now all the holes are in perfect alignment. I also cut Gear door #3 spring barrels from 5/8" OD .058 wall aluminum tubing. The tubing has plastic end caps (which I also found over the weekend) that need to be drilled for a through bolt. All the cutting and drilling was done on the lathe at work. Overkill, but just a fast as other methods for me. Cut the pitch trim cartrige tube out of 3/8" OD .035 wall 4130 steel tube.
