Layed up a two ply laminate about 24" x 20" on a piece of waxed glass. I have decided to remake both gear door #1's. Neither one of the existing fit the wing contour very well. I don't know if they were always like that or if they have distorted over the last twenty years. Anyway I am going to try to make new ones layed up in position on the wing. Tonights laminate is the start of the process. I also layed up a NACA duct on a mold that a fellow builder lent me. The mold was taken from a Glasair part during the bankrupcy period. He also lent me a cockpit airbox duct mold and a wing attach angle mold. I will work at pulling parts from these molds for the next number of days so that I can return the molds quickly.
UPDATE: Everything came out bad. The two ply layup ended up with a lot of air bubbles. The NACA scoop was a little green and stuck to the plug a little bit. I will try again
