Brief Description:  Pitot Tube Mount

Started to install the pitot tube mount. I bought a high dollar heated pitot/static tube combination of of Ebay awhile back. The tube mounts using streamline steel tubing. I fit a length of the tubing through the LH wing panel just outboard of the inpection cover opening. Glasair suggests that the pitot tube be mounted to the LH inspection cover. I did not like this idea much, I don't want to have to disconnect the pitot, static and power lines each time I want to look in the wing. I traced around the tubing on the wing inner skin. I then used my Dremel with router bit to cut the inner and outer wing skins. I removed a margin of foam between the inner and outer skins to create a place to pack cabosil around the tube. I fixtured the tube to sit vertical in both planes. I then packed the space where the foam was removed and filleted around the tubing. The tubing was protected with clear packaging tape to allow the resin/cabosil to release from the tube. I will later cut a short peice of the same tubing to use as a mount for the pitot/static tube
