Brief Description:  Master Cylinder Mounting Lay-ups

Well I tried my first flat layup. I did this two layer bid layout an a piece of glass. I mixed the resin with the least amount of MEKP recommended (.75%) to slow things down. I also vacuum bagged the operation just for fun. Unfortunately I think I slowed the resin down too much. It did not start to jell until about two hours. It still was not cured at four hours. I then tried a batch of resin at 2% MEKP and it jelled in about fifteen minutes and exothermed in about thirty. We will see if this first layup cures by morning. I will probably have to toss it. All in the learning.

I also bead blasted the rudder pedal castings and aileron actuators.

UPDATE: Yesterday's lay-up did not set up! I tried another batch in a 3oz dixie cup at 1.25% and had 25 minutes to gel and 60 minutes to exotherm which would be acceptable. I will try agian on Monday!
