Brief Description: Stabilizer Braces, Elevator Control Horn
I had removed the horizontal stabilizer and the elevators to work on the rudder cables. Now that they are working, I proceeded to re-install the stab and elevator.
I cleaned the bolt holes in the elevator control horns, cleaned the tubes that the elevator tim (pitch trim) crank tubes go through, slipped in the crank tubes and re-installed the stab. These trim crank tubes can not be installed with the stabilizer in place. I'll put the trim control horns on later, because right now I want to get the elevator cables run.
I installed the elevators and bolted them together in the middle. There seemed to be a little binding, so I put on the front stab braces and ran some coated cable temporarily for the top tailwires. I adjusted the braces and tailwires until the stab was in line using a staight-edge. This seems to make the elevator move more freely.
