Brief Description:  Test-fit the horizontal stab and elevators

I cleaned the bolt holes and test-fit the horisontal stabilizer and elevators on the fuselage. Although the manual is very careful about instructing you to make absolutely sure you put the front stabilizer support tube in the correct factory-determined orientation - I could not even come close to getting it to fit the right-hand stabilizer.

The left-hand one went on perfectly with the support tube in any position, but the right hand one will not fit without beating on it. It appears to me that the curved front main spar of the stabilizer is curved too much where it meets the fuselage, instead of straightening out slightly at the point where it slips over the support tube. When compared to the left-hand stab - it's noticable. So, there is mis-alignment.

I filed the support tube mounting bolt-hole out a little to move the support aft a few thousandths and that helped loosen up the slip-fit. But it's still not real good. Even with the support tube bolt removed the fit is binding. The stab spar tube is at a definite angle to the support tube. I'll probably work on this area some more...

All that said - it still looks good on the airframe.
