Eric and Jay swagged the rudder ends of the rudder cable and experimented with different attachment methods. The plans call for the rudder cable to be swagged around a bearing and then bolted onto the rudder connection. We both agree that this is an insufficent attachement method and have been brainstorming ideas to beef it up. The attachment links shown in Image 2 have been fabricated for up by the rudder pedals. We think they offer a better opportuinity for adjustments at this end of the calbe and allow for a more linear pull on the rudder cables. We also experimented with a turnbuckle with a saddle end. Unfortunately the saddle area inthe turnbuckle attahment was too shallow and couldn't rotate freely when the rudder was deflected away. We are still working through what we want to do with final assembly, but are satisfied that we have some good ideas to work with.
