Brief Description:  rudder covering, leading edge work

Eric (2 hrs) - worked more on covering the rudder.

Jay & Art (4 hrs) worked on leading edge installation - and thinking through the flaperon installation process. We scuffed up the leading edge spar with a scotchbrite pad for better adhesion, and cleaned the leading edge material and front spar with denatured alcohol per the plans. We used the leading edge template from the plans to ensure the port wing leading edge was aligned properly, and drilled 3/32 inch holes through the leading edge spar and leading edge material so that we could use clecoes to keep the leading edge exactly where we want it during the glue up process. We did not glue the leading edge this session, because we didn't have the right materials to accurately weigh the 3M structural adhesive per the dirctions, nor did we have a good surface to mix it on, or spatulas to mix it with. We will bring that material to the next session, and hopefully get the leading edges attached. We have not decided yet wether or not to replace the clecoes with countersunk rivets after t he glue dries, or if we will just fill the holes with super fill or something similar.
