So -- the chapter took a several month break for COVID and the winter. We started back (slowly) on the first Wednesday in April and have been slowly making progress since then. Our current projects include: mounting the pitot/static tube in the left wing. Working on the turtledeck, the windshield, the lighting system, and the flight controls. I will start updating the wedsite weekly again now that we have our momentum back. It feels good to be working on it again!
This Wednesday we had 6 people attend: Eric M., Pat C, Jay B, Craig, Lawson, and Adam We fished the pitot and static lines through the left wing and discussed the best way to mount the pitot static tube. Craig spent the session studying the manual for the flight controls and familiarizing himself with the work that had already been completed. We also got the rest of the holes drilled for the counterbalances. Per the instructions, since we have built the "speedster" wing we will have 2 counterbalances per wing. I have countersinks loaded up in my toolbox for the next trip so that we can countersink the wingtips on the next trip out.
