Manual Reference:  Fuel Tank work
Brief Description:  Beginning work on wing fuel tanks

Terry, Jim and Jay worked on installing the wing fuel tanks.

Jay began by sorting all of the various fittings and hoses and organizing them by part number. Eric pointed out, and the group agreed that the hoses and possibly the nylon fittings were too old to be airworthy. We decided to use the existing parts for initial assembly, but if we came across a part that would be difficult to replace after installation, we would order the new part now. For the rest of the parts, we will replace with new fittings later, but before the first flight. The older hoses and fittings will allow us to experiment a little with placement, lengths, etc.

We did some test fitting of the fuel tanks and made a list of needed supplies to continue. The tools we need next time include a drill, some T-88 or other adhesive. some gap filler, some silicone, and a small saw.

Jim took the fuel tanks home to give them a light cleaning.
