This was my first experience with alodining. This is the pair of angle attach brackets for the HS and the rudder horn from the rudder, these are the only non-alclad parts in the empennage. Due to their small (relatively) size, I immersed them in both the alumiprep and alodine solutions in a large plastic cup. I diluted the alumiprep 33 according the directions for clean metal at 5:1 for immersion, and 3:1 for the alodine. Before the prep solution, I washed each part with soap and water, then wiped them down with laquer thinner to remove any remaining oils. I don't have any other examples to compare this to other than pictures on other builders sites - and these look identical to those, so I suppose I didn't screw it up too badly!
