Brief Description:  Roll bar; seats; rudder pedals

After the previous experience trying to spread the rollover bar with the smaller ratcheting tiedown straps, I went out and bought two heavy-duty ones, rated at a 3350 lb working load and a 5600 lb breaking limit. These did the trick. I easily spread the bar to about 26-1/4", which resulted in the desired final width of 24-3/8".

Next, I worked on the rear seat. I checked and adjusted the fit of the attach-hinges, then drilled them to the bottom of the seat skin. Next, I removed all the blue plastic, deburred the skin and the side angles, then scuffed, cleaned and primed everything.

While the primer was drying, I began work on the front seat by completing the seat belt cutouts in the skin, and fabricating the two F-832C side angles. (By the way, the Van's drawing that shows these angles is incorrect. It states that the left angle is shown, when in fact it shows the right one.)

The final project was drilling out the 1/2" lightening holes in my custom rudder pedal extensions. The extensions are now ready to be bent and riveted.
